No one leaves his or her home in Covington in the morning anticipating that he or she will be involved in a car accident. Most (if asked) may likely say that they are confident enough in their own driving skills that accident avoidance has become almost second nature to them. While such safe driving practices no doubt benefit such people while on the road, they cannot account for the reckless actions of others. When a simple act of inattentiveness is combined with such recklessness, it is often amazing how easily catastrophic accidents can be the result.

Such an accident recently occurred on Interstate 264 in Louisville. While an investigation into the accident is still ongoing, law enforcement officials say that they believe speed was a definite factor in the collision that ultimately killed two people. The accident was initiated when a pickup truck struck the back of a car that was stopped due to slow traffic conditions. That car then pushed the one in front of it under a semi-truck before bursting into flames. Its occupants were trapped in the vehicle and ended up dying at the scene. The passengers of the car pushed under the semi (an adult and a child), were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, as was the driver of the truck that caused the collision.

The loss of a loved one in an accident such as the one described above may never truly be compensated. Yet in many instances, those affected by such a loss may have little choice but to initiate legal action in order to cover the resulting expenses. Those who need to do so may find themselves a valuable ally in their struggles in the form of an attorney.
